This month we’re celebrating four years of Ocean & Green! And what better way to do that than to take a look back at just how far we’ve come? Plus, we’ll let you know about the special things we’ve got going on to help celebrate our birthday month!
Let’s take it right back to the beginning. Our founder Daneen Morgan had developed a passion for New Zealand's abundant natural resources after meeting a seaweed harvester. Fascinated by the incredible health benefits available, she wanted to harness the power of nature’s superfoods from our nutrient-rich New Zealand oceans. So in August 2018, Ocean & Green was born!
Our 100% Pure NZ Seaweed Supplements instantly became a customer favourite. We’ve loved hearing stories from customers of our supplements helping with issues such as post-pregnancy hair loss, heart health, or thyroid balance. Over the next few years, Daneen branched out into other products such as marine collagen, hemp and seaweed flakes. In every product, we aim to retain as much of the raw goodness in our products so that customers worldwide can reap the many medicinal benefits – all while nourishing their natural vitality.
Earlier this year, we made the leap into the skincare realm with the launch of Skinsync. This was another project that Ocean & Green is extremely impassioned about. The thing that Skinsync offers that the rest of the beauty world does not take into consideration is the specific formulation for a women’s cycle. Hormonal balance can be a tricky thing to conquer, especially through natural remedies, but with Skinsync is has become a lot easier. We are beyond excited to bring Skinsync into Ocean & Green to help eliminate this problem.
Ocean & Green rapidly became the niche New Zealand company that it is today, specialising in premium quality marine health and beauty products! We’re especially proud of the fact that our products are high quality, pure, sustainably sourced and fully traceable. All of our kelp is harvested from the pristine oceans of Otago, and with no added nasties, you can be sure to know exactly what you’re getting with us.
So what does Daneen say has been the biggest challenge? Definitely coordinating the harvest with manufacturing and making sure all the moving parts in the process run seamlessly. Lockdown was another challenge, which pushed Daneen to get creative with marketing and promotion. To those wanting to start their own business – the key piece of advice Daneen would give is to persevere. Every day has its challenges, but you’ve just got to hang in there and don’t give up!
So what’s next for Ocean & Green? Well, Daneen is passionate about continuing to grow awareness of the amazing health benefits of seaweed and other marine products. It’s working – in recent years, knowledge of these health benefits has been gaining momentum. We are very passionate about growing our community and elevating our game. We are stepping up with our content, delivering variety with educational, inspirational, artistic, fun and much more to keep you clued up on all things health, wellness and beauty.
